Mr. Bedford teaches 9th and 10th grade English. He chose the career to teach English because he doesn't like math , but he loves helping students improve their organization and communication skills, and he likes teaching 9th and 10th grades because they are so skilled based.


Mr. Bedford choose the JCBA house because he used to be in business for many years before he started teaching. He loves working with the group of teachers and students in the JCBA house so it is a good fit for him.


Mr. Bedford expects a good honest effort from all his students, "it takes a lot of work and determination to get what you want in this world; sometimes things go wrong and you have to start over." His expecations for all his students is that they demostrate that they are willing to work for something that is valuable - their education.


Mr. Bedford says he didn't choose to be a high school teacher, high school chose him, but he likes the developing thought process of 9th and 10th graders. He has been teaching for 11 years at Hiram Johnson High School. Mr. Bedford likes teaching at Hiram Johnson and thinks it's a great school and loves teaching the students who come to this school, he also loves teaching in the JCBA house and hopes that he will get the chance to keep on building that SLC.

Mr. Bedford is an outdoor man who likes to kayak in his free time and whenever he gets the chance. Mr. Bedford and his wife loves to go kayaking in the San Francisco Bay and in the ocean as often as they can. He and his wife both got certified to teach kayak classes last year. He even started a 7th period last year to teach kids how to kayak so they can enjoy the same thing as Mr. Bedford.
