The Academy’s philosophy is to:
•Use the arts to enhance the standard academic curriculum

•Expand creative expression and self-confidence by working in a disciplined yet open arts environment
•Develop entry level skills in a specific arts discipline
•Encourage personal artistic development by participating in regular school and community performances
•Identify and encourage gifted and talented students
•Develop maturity, self-esteem, and appreciation for beauty in a complex society
Through the curriculum of the AME Academy, students will develop aesthetic perception and values that enable them to express increasingly complex ideas and to appreciate their heritage and cultural environment in greater depth.
