Period 4, 6 Work on websites.

Tuesday
Period 1, 3 Typing Tutor 15 minutes. Then make a Newsletter using Microsoft Publisher. Make it about your Green Earth Business or your new business. Delete pages 2 and 3, so you only have a 2 page newsletter. Work as a group.

Period 5 - Yearbook class. Work on yearbook pages or work on identifying students in the pages.

Period 1 and 3
Choose one of the products or services you've developed. Research the product using the internet. If you find similar products you will need to design your product so it is better than the others or is more earth friendly. Redesign the product or service until it is the best you can make it.
Design the product in Adobe Photoshop or hand draw it. If it is a service, then you need to design a flyer for the service.
Decide on a name for the company and the product or service.
Make a logo for the company.

Period 1 and 3 - Green Earth Products
Use the following sites to research what is currently available and what people are doing to save the earth. Use these sites to get ideas for your own products or services that help save the earth. Your objective is to come up with products or services to help make our earth better while at the same time making lots of money so you can do more with life. Write your ideas in a Word document and save to your folder.

Periods 1 and 3 (10th Grade Advanced Computer Applications and Intro to Business)

Green Business Project


Develop a business that sells green products or green services, or a business that makes green products for business or consumers. You are encouraged to develop your own product or service. You can also use an existing product or service, but you’ll need to develop a relationship between the products or services that match your business. You can also combine products and services into packages.

Project Guidelines

  • Grading – Cross Curriculum grades will be given by each Academy teacher for the section that is produced for their class and as a part of the overall project.
  • Group Makeup 3 - facilitator/President, Recorder/VP Communications, Creator/VP Research and Development
    • Although each person will be graded separately, all group members are responsible for the entirety of the business.
  • Timeline – Project will be finished by April 13 – See timeline below
  • Requirements –
    • Business Concept – 1 page overview of what, who, where, why
    • Business name
    • Mission statement
    • Business Logo
    • Business Plan/Model
    • Financial Overview
    • Product and service description sheets, models, costs, profits, sales projections with documentation (factual based) through research and by surveys
    • Sales Brochures
    • PowerPoint – Presentation that includes all the above as if presented to a board that will green light the project
    • Presentation boards, tables, booths for Earth Day
    • Assignments in each class should be integrated into the project and a brief overview included in presentation
    •  

Final Presentation – Each business will present to Mr. Brown starting April 5. Each business will present for Earth Day at school on or about April 13. Presentations will also be graded by outside business professionals.
Each presentation will be 15 Minutes. Presentation must be interactive to include the potiential clients. All 3 people are required to speak.

Extra Credit – Up to each teacher in Academy. Ask your teacher if there is some way to get extra credit for the project that meets or exceeds their curriculum requirements.
